The Bank’s Home Lending Product Management team is responsible for:

  • Handling and developing profitable mortgage and home equity products that further increased dedication from our clients;
  • Driving profit improvement and revenue growth through sales channels, marketing programs, and cost controls;
  • Encouraging an excellent end-to-end lending client experience; and,
  • Recording and measuring product performance and program effectiveness.

What you are good at


The loan products are integral to the Bank’s success. As such, this role will be primarily responsible for leading Product Management efforts and initiatives across internal and external channels. The Senior Manager will be responsible for:

  • Working with 3rd party vendors in the loan origination and loan servicing process.
  • Actively participating on project teams to represent the Bank Lending Product team.
  • Helping to drive the strategic vision for Schwab's Lending Products group by proactively finding opportunities to improve home lending product penetration and the overall lending experience.
  • Leading programs with cross-functional partners such as Credit Risk, Underwriting, External Vendors, Sales Administration, Marketing, Legal/Compliance, Finance and Client Web Services.
  • Providing analytical support of the Mortgage and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) products for various Bank teams and partners.
  • Assisting in the development of a multi-year roadmap for the Mortgage and HELOC products.
  • Collaborating with Credit Risk, Underwriting departments, and External Vendors on product development and updates including product launches, revamping, and maintenance efforts.
  • Maintaining and updating home lending product program and pricing information across various business channels.
  • Supporting internal and external audit or regulatory reviews
  • Helping to develop a proactive agenda with business partners across the firm for product-related initiatives and driving the implementation of these initiatives.
  • Working with the Director of the team to prepare leadership updates, executive presentations, and strategy readouts
  • Participating in the ongoing flow of information and anticipating potential needs or competitive trends in the marketplace as it concerns product availability
  • Driving critical cross-organizational issues / needs, summarizing key points and risks, and making recommendations to enable efficient decision making
  • Performing data analysis and data mining to assist in a variety of requests in support of the Home Lending Product team.

What you have


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and apply them to the business, including ability to make recommendations and build plans to complete them.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize data, develop recommendations, influence partners and report on status.
  • Experience developing and handling mortgage portfolio products.
  • Solid understanding of GSE lending products and process.
  • Full knowledge of federal lending regulations.
  • Understanding of general mortgage credit policy and underwriting process.
  • Product pricing experience.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and adapting to change and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Can work in both a strategic and executional capacity with ability to prioritize effectively and handle partners in a fast-paced and matrixed environment
  • Highly client-focused with demonstrated product management, program leadership and implementation experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing home lending marketing and promotional campaigns
  • Advanced level knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years relevant experience as product manager for mortgage and HELOC products
  • Financial Services industry experience
  • Credit, underwriting and risk management experience a plus.

Colorado Compensation
Target Total Compensation - 92,200 - 145,800.
